An Act to Amend the Laws Governing the Taste Testing of Wine and Malt Liquor to Facilitate Marketing by Wholesalers

Complete·3/20/25

This bill allows wine and malt liquor wholesalers to hold taste-testing events at more locations, including unlicensed venues.

This bill modifies the law governing taste-testing events held by malt liquor and wine wholesale licensees. Currently, wholesale licensees can rent or lease an area from a retail licensee to invite retail licensees to taste test wine or malt liquor products. The bill expands this by allowing wholesale licensees to also rent or lease an unlicensed venue for such events. After the event, the wholesale licensee must remove all products from the premises. This change aims to support local craft manufacturers and respond to economic hardship in the beverage industry.
