Maine LD2134 creates an exception to the prohibition on retail tobacco licenses for grocery stores containing pharmacies. This exception applies if the grocery store has no more than 26,000 square feet of customer-accessible sales area, the pharmacy was established prior to July 7, 2025, and operates in a separately demised, leased space with a separate pharmacy license. All tobacco sales must occur outside the pharmacy's leased premises, using the grocery store's separate inventory and point-of-sale system.
