An Act to Clarify the Prohibition on Paper Billing Statement Fees

Clarifies that fees can be charged for replacement, custom date range, and nonroutine billing statements.

This bill amends the Maine Revised Statutes to clarify the definition of "billing statement" and specifies that a person is not prohibited from charging a fee for providing a replacement statement, a statement covering a custom date range, or a statement requested for financial or legal purposes or for any other labor-intensive or nonroutine requests to provide copies of statements.
