This bill permits the use of variable-message signs on authorized public service vehicles when they are stationary for activities such as roadside repair, loading or unloading, vehicle recovery, or general traffic control. The Commissioner of Public Safety can adopt rules to implement this provision. The definition of "variable-message sign" is updated to include traffic control devices that can display and change messages to provide necessary information.
