LD2048

Maine LD2048 amends fantasy contest licensing laws to include criminal history checks and control disclosures.

Maine LD2048 modifies the licensing process for fantasy contest operators by requiring the Director of the Gambling Control Unit to request criminal history record checks for applicants. The bill mandates that applicants disclose individuals with control over them, including corporate holding companies, parent companies, subsidiaries, and those owning 10% or more of the applicant. It sets an initial license fee of $250 and a renewal fee of $250 for a one-year term.
