Maine LD202 raises the number of children a family child care provider can care for without a license.
Maine LD202 amends the definition of a family child care provider to allow them to care for more children without needing a license. Specifically, a provider can care for up to six children, excluding their own or those who reside in their home, without a license, provided at least two of the children are siblings. This change aims to support family child care providers by easing licensing requirements.
