LD1999

This bill excludes agricultural leases from the definition of "subdivision" under Maine's planning and land use regulation laws.

This bill modifies the definition of "subdivision" under Maine's planning and land use regulation laws to exclude leases of land used primarily for farming or ranching. These leases must not convey fee simple ownership or allow for the construction of permanent residential dwellings, except for housing for migrant or seasonal farm workers. This change aims to clarify that certain agricultural leases do not fall under the subdivision regulations.
