Municipalities within a school union can petition and vote to withdraw from the union.
This bill allows the residents of a participating municipality of a municipal school unit within a school union to petition and vote to withdraw from the school union. The process mirrors the procedure for a single municipality to withdraw from a regional school unit. The bill amends 20-A MRSA §1905 to reflect this new withdrawal process.
