Updates psychology licensure requirements in Maine to allow for timely acceptance of applications after examination passage.

This bill updates the requirements for psychology licensure in Maine by allowing the State Board of Examiners of Psychologists to accept applications for licensure at any time after successful passage of the qualifying examination. Previously, current law prevented the board from accepting such applications within six months of failure of the examination. The bill also requires candidates for initial licensure to furnish evidence of completing a minimum of hours of coursework in family or intimate partner violence screening and referral and emergency intervention strategies.
