LD1978

Maine LD1978 removes immunity for governmental entities in cases of sexual acts toward minors by employees or agents.

Maine LD1978 enacts a provision that holds governmental entities liable for intentional and negligent acts or omissions by employees or agents who commit sexual acts toward minors. This bill removes the statute of limitations for such actions, allowing lawsuits regardless of when the sexual act occurred. It applies to all governmental entities, including cities, towns, counties, and school districts, and covers acts committed on or off the entity's premises.
