Legislative reimbursement allowances for Maine state legislators are adjusted and clarified.

This bill amends Maine's laws regarding legislative reimbursement for state legislators. It removes specific dollar amounts for meal, travel, and housing allowances, instead allowing the Legislative Council to set these amounts, which cannot exceed the federal per diem rate. The bill also clarifies how mileage is calculated for legislators traveling to and from sessions. Additionally, it updates the salary provisions for legislators who replace a deceased or vacating member, ensuring the successor receives a prorated salary from the date of seating.
