LD1945

Maine LD1945 amends data collection processes in health care facilities to include sexual orientation and gender identity data for individuals aged.

Maine LD1945 amends the Maine Revised Statutes to clarify that health care facilities, excluding pharmacies, must collect data on sexual orientation and gender identity from individuals aged 18 and older as part of their intake and demographic information collection. This data becomes part of the individual's electronic health record and is subject to confidentiality requirements. The bill removes previous language that described the data required to be collected, aligning it with federal standards set by the Department of Health and Human Services.
