LD1930

Maine LD1930 would include unborn children in the definition of "person" or "human being" for certain criminal provisions.

Maine LD1930 amends the Maine Criminal Code to include unborn children in the definition of "person" or "human being" for certain provisions, including those governing murder, manslaughter, and assault. Exceptions are made for acts committed by the mother of the unborn child, lawful medical procedures performed by licensed professionals, and the lawful dispensation of prescribed medication. This change would apply to all stages of gestation from conception until live birth.
