Maine LD1907 aims to protect consumers from unfair dynamic pricing in grocery stores by limiting its use during emergencies.

Maine LD1907 amends the Unfair Sales Act to restrict grocery stores from using dynamic pricing more than once in a 48-hour period during severe weather events, natural disasters, supply chain disruptions, or other sudden demand increases. Grocery stores must provide conspicuous signage to customers explaining the use of dynamic pricing, including factors affecting price changes and the prohibition during emergencies. Violations are considered unfair trade practices under the Maine Unfair Trade Practices Act.
