An Act Related to Oversized All-terrain Vehicles

Failed·4/29/26
Tpdf Text

This bill raises the minimum weight limit for oversized all-terrain vehicles in Maine from 2,000 to 2,500 pounds.

The bill amends the Maine Revised Statutes to redefine "oversized ATV" as any all-terrain vehicle weighing more than 2,500 pounds according to the manufacturer's specifications. It allows residents who registered their oversized ATV before January 1, 2022, to continue registering it, provided they pay the specified fee. New owners of such vehicles must also pay the fee to register. The bill takes effect immediately to apply to the 2025 all-terrain vehicle season.
