This resolve mandates the Maine Department of Education to establish air quality and ventilation standards for all newly constructed public schools. These standards must be implemented between July 1, 2022, and July 1, 2026. The rules adopted will be major substantive rules under Maine Revised Statutes, Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2-A. The department must submit these rules for final adoption to the Joint Standing Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs by January 4, 2022.
