LD187

Maine LD187 would prohibit labor organizations from charging nonmembers a service fee.

Maine LD187 amends the Maine Revised Statutes to prohibit labor organizations from imposing mandatory service fees on nonmembers. Currently, nonmember employees can be required to pay a fee for the organization's representational activities. This bill removes that requirement, allowing employees to opt out of paying fees to organizations they choose not to join. The changes apply to various sections of the Maine Revised Statutes, ensuring consistency across the law.
