Maine LD1868 updates renewable and clean energy procurement laws to advance a clean energy economy.

Maine LD1868 amends state laws to enhance the procurement of renewable and clean energy resources. The Governor's Energy Office is directed to conduct competitive solicitations starting in 2026 to procure energy or associated environmental attributes from renewable and clean resources. The Public Utilities Commission is authorized to coordinate with other states for procuring transmission capacity, capacity resources, energy, renewable energy credits, or clean energy credits.
