LD1849

This bill modifies the Maine Juvenile Code to redefine "juvenile" and expand the types of crimes that can be considered juvenile crimes.

This bill modifies provisions of the Maine Juvenile Code. It redefines "juvenile" to mean a person who had attained 10 years of age but not 18 years of age at the time the person committed an alleged juvenile crime, except for the crimes of murder, felony murder, and manslaughter and the criminal attempt of those crimes, where there is no minimum age. The bill expands the definition of "juvenile crime" to include any crime under Titles 15 and 29-A if committed by a juvenile.
