Establishes peer respite services for individuals needing mental health support in Maine.

The bill mandates the Department of Health and Human Services to offer peer respite services and set up a peer respite center. This center will provide 24-hour support for adults requiring voluntary, short-term mental health services. Peer respite services are defined as nonclinical, community-based care from peers with lived experience, offered in a low-barrier, comfortable, and safe setting. Funding for this initiative is allocated from the General Fund.
