An Act to Support Small Adult Use Cannabis Businesses by Establishing a Micro Cannabis Facility License

Failed·5/28/25
Tpdf Text

Establishes a micro cannabis facility license in Maine, allowing small businesses to cultivate and sell cannabis.

This bill amends the Cannabis Legalization Act to create a micro cannabis facility license. This new license allows small businesses to cultivate up to 1,000 square feet of plant canopy and sell cannabis products. Micro cannabis facilities can cultivate, manufacture, and sell cannabis without needing separate licenses for cultivation or product manufacturing. The bill sets an application fee of $500 and an annual license fee of up to $2,500. Cannabis sold by micro cannabis facilities is exempt from certain taxes, but sales tax must still be collected.
