Proposing an amendment to the Maine Constitution to require voter approval for new or increased taxes, spending, and debt.

This resolution proposes an amendment to the Maine Constitution to limit taxes, spending, and debt. It would require voter approval for new or increased taxes, including income and property taxes, increases in fiscal spending beyond the rate of inflation, and increases in debt. The amendment would be subject to a statewide vote in November following the resolution's passage. If approved by a majority, it would become part of the Maine Constitution.
