This bill amends the Maine Revised Statutes to ensure that 10% of the money credited to the Adult Use Cannabis Public Health and Safety and Municipal Opt-in Fund is distributed to municipalities that permit the operation of some or all adult use cannabis establishments. Qualifying expenses include legal fees and costs associated with drafting and adopting ordinances or warrant articles, including town meetings or elections. Each municipality can receive up to $20,000 only once for these expenses. The reimbursement is limited to expenses incurred before July 1, 2027.
