Failed·5/21/25
Tpdf Text

Waldo County Budget Committee members can be non-municipal officers if no municipal officers are willing to serve.

This bill amends the Waldo County Budget Committee's membership rules. It allows residents who are not municipal officers to serve on the committee if no municipal officers are willing to be nominated. The bill also removes the requirement that a budget committee member must remain a municipal officer during their term. The county commissioners cannot alter the budget adopted by the committee, except by unanimous vote. If the commissioners do alter the budget, the committee can reject the change with a two-thirds vote.
