Municipalities can prohibit firearms in their buildings, voting places, and at public proceedings.

This bill allows municipalities to adopt orders, ordinances, policies, or regulations that limit or prohibit the possession of firearms within their buildings, voting places, and at municipal public proceedings. The municipality must post notices of these limitations or prohibitions in prominent locations. The ordinance, policy, or regulation may impose a civil penalty of up to $1,000 per violation. Exceptions are made for federal, state, county, or local law enforcement officers.
