Establishes the Biohazard Waste Disposal Grant Program to fund hypodermic apparatus mitigation and collection efforts in Maine.

The Biohazard Waste Disposal Grant Program is established to fund efforts to mitigate and collect improperly discarded hypodermic apparatuses in Maine. The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention will administer the program, subject to available funding. Grants are available to community-based organizations and municipalities. The center will develop an application process that includes criteria to demonstrate community need, a narrative description of proposed standards, and innovative strategies to prevent improper disposal.
