Maine LD1702 amends election laws to restrict candidates from collecting signatures or soliciting contributions near polling places. The bill prohibits candidates or their representatives from collecting signatures or soliciting campaign contributions within 250 feet of a polling place entrance and inside the polling place. It also clarifies that candidates cannot influence voters' decisions regarding candidates or ballot questions in these areas.
