Establishes a sustainable housing development work program for Maine prison residents.

The bill establishes a sustainable housing development work program for eligible residents of the Department of Corrections. The program trains residents in home construction techniques with an emphasis on green and renewable methods. It also establishes partnerships with community colleges and trade organizations to offer certification programs. Residents can earn a sentence reduction of one day for every hours worked, up to 25% of their total sentence. The program requires homes to meet energy efficiency standards and use at least 50% renewable energy.
