LD1679

Allocates scallop dragging licenses to residents of specific Maine island communities.

This bill mandates the allocation of one scallop dragging license per year to residents of 14 Maine island communities. It prohibits the transfer of these licenses to residents of other island communities. If a license remains unissued for consecutive years, the commissioner can reallocate it to another island community. The commissioner must collaborate with municipal officers and local organizations to implement and administer these provisions.
