Failed·6/13/25
Tpdf Text

Allows school boards to expel or suspend students of any grade level.

This bill amends Maine law to allow school boards to expel or suspend students of any grade level, removing previous restrictions on expulsion and suspension for students in grade or below. The bill specifies that expulsions and suspensions must follow proper investigations and due process. It also allows school boards to develop policies requiring students violating substance use or possession rules to participate in substance use disorder services. The bill repeals previous provisions that limited the ability to suspend students in grade or below for certain infractions.
