Reforms the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority to include environmental stewardship and expand its board of trustees.
This bill amends the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority to include environmental stewardship as a goal and requires the board of trustees to enter into environmental covenants by January 1, 2027. It expands the board of trustees by adding a second commissioner of a department of State Government, a member appointed by the chair of the Brunswick town council, and a member of the Legislature. The bill also removes the authority's exemption from site location of development laws and requires all property held by the authority to be subject to the Uniform Environmental Covenants Act.
