Amends Maine's Open Space Tax Law to adjust tax reductions for different categories of open space land.
This bill amends Maine's Open Space Tax Law by adjusting the property tax reductions for various categories of open space land. It increases the reduction for ordinary open space land from 20% to 45% and reduces the additional reduction for permanently protected open space land from 30% to 25%. The bill eliminates the additional tax reduction for forever wild open space land and managed forest open space land. It also provides an additional 25% reduction for open space land with an approved wildlife habitat management plan or forest climate resilience and carbon management plan.
