Establishes the Food System Protection Program to provide zero-interest loans to Maine farmers and food banks affected by federal funding cuts.

The bill establishes the Food System Protection Program, administered by the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, to provide zero-interest loans and other resources to qualifying producers and nonprofit organizations within the State. These organizations must have been affected by federal funding cuts and other changes to the status of contracts and certain federal programs. The program aims to reduce hunger and increase food security. The department will establish an application process for individuals and entities to apply for loans under the program.
