Clarifies the prohibition on selling beverages in plastic containers in Maine.
The bill amends the definition of "closure device" in the Maine Revised Statutes to specify that it includes any part of a beverage container that closes or seals it, such as a cap, cover, lid, cork, plug, or similar device. The bill also clarifies that the prohibition on selling beverages in plastic containers applies even if the container's basic structure includes aluminum or steel, as long as the container is composed of one or more plastics. This aims to ensure consistent enforcement of the beverage container prohibition.
