Maine LD1579 would eliminate the need for voters to validate a regional school unit budget at a referendum. The bill amends various sections of the Maine Revised Statutes Annotated to remove the requirement for budget validation referendums. It also modifies the procedures for budget approval, transfers between budget cost center lines, and special budget meetings. The changes aim to streamline the budget process for regional school units, allowing for more efficient budget management without the need for voter approval at each stage.
