Extends one-year lobbying prohibition to former legislative branch employees.
The bill amends existing law to extend the one-year lobbying prohibition to former employees of the legislative branch, including partisan and nonpartisan staff, beginning January 1, 2026. Previously, only former executive branch employees faced this restriction. This change aims to ensure consistency in lobbying restrictions across both branches of government.
