LD1570

Maine LD1570 prohibits public water systems from adding fluoride beyond natural levels.

Maine LD1570 repeals existing law that governs the process for adding fluoride to public water supplies. Instead, it prohibits public water systems from adding fluoride beyond the natural fluoride level. Violators face a civil penalty of $1,000 per day. The bill also mandates that school boards ensure school water supplies meet health standards.
