An Act to Allow the Use of Certain All-terrain Vehicles on Snowmobile Trails

Failed·5/14/25
Tpdf Text

Allows ATVs with snow tracks to operate on snowmobile trails in Maine.

This bill permits the use of all-terrain vehicles equipped with snow tracks on snowmobile trails in Maine. It requires ATVs to have an endorsement sticker, costing $25, displayed on the front and back next to the registration number. The endorsement authorizes operation on trails financed by the Snowmobile Trail Fund, except where prohibited by the landowner or in emergencies. The bill amends existing law to clarify the conditions under which ATVs can use these trails.
