Maine LD1531 mandates specific lighting and reflective gear for animal-drawn vehicles on public roads to enhance safety.
Maine LD1531 repeals existing regulations and introduces new requirements for animal-drawn vehicles. It mandates that these vehicles must display a yellow flashing lamp visible from 1,000 feet at all times. Additionally, during low visibility conditions, vehicles must have a white light visible from 1,000 feet in the front and two red lights visible from 1,000 feet at the rear. The bill also allows for the use of microprism reflective tape as an alternative to some lighting requirements.
