LD151

Allows businesses to impose a surcharge on credit card and debit card transactions.

This bill permits sellers in sales transactions to impose a surcharge on credit card and debit card payments, except for travel services. The surcharge must be disclosed to the consumer and cannot exceed the costs associated with the transaction. A discount or reduction from the regular price is not considered a surcharge. The bill also repeals a chapter of law governing credit card practices involving providers of travel services.
