LD1467

Maine LD1467 mandates independent repair facilities to cover costs for improper repairs on vehicles under manufacturer's warranty.

Maine LD1467 establishes that independent repair facilities must reimburse consumers, dealerships, and manufacturers for costs incurred due to improper repairs on vehicles under manufacturer's warranty. The bill defines an "independent repair facility" as one not affiliated with the manufacturer or dealership. It also requires these facilities to disclose their non-affiliation and potential warranty conflicts before performing repairs. Failure to reimburse constitutes an unfair trade practice under the Maine Unfair Trade Practices Act.
