LD143

This bill funds family planning services in Maine through a dedicated grant to a single provider.

The bill enacts a new section in the Maine Revised Statutes to ensure ongoing funding for family planning services. It establishes the Fund to Maintain Access to Statewide Family Planning Services within the Department of Health and Human Services. The department will issue a request for proposals and select one provider to manage and oversee the delivery of these services. The bill appropriates $6,180,000 annually from the General Fund for this purpose, ensuring that these funds do not replace other funding sources.
