Failed·5/13/25
Tpdf Text

Foster parents with a child in their care for a year or more gain equal rights as adult relatives.

This bill amends the Maine Revised Statutes to ensure that foster parents who have had a child in their care for a continuous period of one year or more are granted the same rights as an adult relative of the child. The Department of Health and Human Services must consider these foster parents as having equal standing in matters related to the child's residential placement.
