This bill mandates the Maine Department of Labor, Board of Occupational Safety and Health to develop indoor air quality standards for buildings where public sector workers are employed. The standards must consider various pollutants, including carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, particulate matter, aerosols, mold, and radon. Rules for aerosols must meet or exceed the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers Standard 241 (2023). The board can create an indoor air quality index or consider pollutants individually.
