Maine LD1399 allows public bodies or agencies to prohibit individuals from future executive sessions if they violate confidentiality.

Maine LD1399 amends the confidentiality provisions for executive sessions of public bodies or agencies. If a member or attendee violates the confidentiality of an executive session, the body or agency can prohibit the individual from future sessions and access to confidential information. This prohibition requires a recorded vote of two-thirds of the members present and voting. The decision can be rescinded by a two-thirds vote or upon the expiration of the terms of two-thirds of the voting members. The individual can appeal the decision to the Superior Court.
