LD1395

Maine LD1395 mandates digital library resources for schools to prevent access to obscene materials and requires human trafficking prevention.

Maine LD1395 requires digital or online library resources offered to students in kindergarten to grade 12 to prevent access to child pornography, obscene matter, and materials depicting sexual exploitation of a minor. Schools must withhold payment from providers who fail to comply with these requirements. The bill also allows public and private schools to offer curriculum modules and staff training on the prevention and recognition of signs of sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of a minor, and human trafficking.
