Updates the Maine Self-service Storage Act to modernize rental agreements and property sales.
This bill updates the Maine Self-service Storage Act by amending the definition of abandoned leased space to include spaces with personal property left more than 30 days after a termination notice. It allows electronic delivery and acceptance of rental agreements, permits electronic notices to both occupants and operators, and deems rental agreements accepted if occupants continue to pay rent or occupy the space without signing. The bill also allows online sales of personal property with a lien placed by the operator.
