Raises the alcohol content limit for low-alcohol spirits products and allows their sale by malt liquor and wine licensees.
This bill modifies the definition of "low-alcohol spirits products" to increase the maximum alcohol by volume from 8% to 15%. It also allows licensed sellers of malt liquor and wine to sell these products both on-premises and off-premises. The bill ensures that all existing regulations for malt liquor and wine apply to low-alcohol spirits products, except for specific chapters. This change aims to expand the availability and types of low-alcohol spirits products in Maine.
