LD1366

Amends Maine drug laws to remove cocaine base possession over grams from Class A crime classification.

This bill modifies Maine's drug laws by removing the classification of cocaine base possession over grams as a Class A crime. It amends the law to exclude possession of cocaine base in quantities over grams from the list of schedule W drugs, which previously could result in a Class B crime charge for individuals with prior drug convictions. The bill also adjusts the definition of illegal importation of cocaine base to include quantities over grams as a Class A crime.
