LD1329

Maine LD1329 mandates driver's licenses and nondriver identification cards to indicate the citizenship status of the holder.

Maine LD1329 amends the state's motor vehicle laws to require driver's licenses and nondriver identification cards to specify the citizenship status of the holder, categorizing them as a U.S. citizen, a noncitizen, or an asylum seeker. This change ensures that the required information on these documents includes the holder's name, date of birth, residence or mailing address, and their citizenship status. The bill also updates the application process to include this citizenship status as a required piece of information.
